Our mission
Make coffee education practical and approachable
Great coffee is not about hype. It's about understanding the variables that shape the cup and learning to work with them on purpose.
Our goal is to help you move beyond guesswork, whether you're pulling espresso at home or dialing in a V60. Every guide explains not just what to do, but why it works.
For many people, coffee is the first quiet moment of the day, a pause before the world speeds up. That moment deserves attention to detail.
The variables we teach you to control

- Extraction
- Roast level

How we approach coffee
Grounded in experience, checked by testing
-
Personal experience
Guides start from years behind the bar, not from rewritten product listings.
-
Repeated testing
We brew, taste and adjust more than once before we recommend anything.
-
Real brewing scenarios
We test the way you brew at home: everyday gear, daily routines, real cleanup.
-
Structured research
Where science or health is involved, we check the research and cite it.
Why Rome matters
CoffeeHow is based in Rome, Italy, where traditional espresso culture meets modern specialty coffee. That gives us hands-on access to Italian and European espresso machines, grinders and roasters.
We still write for home brewers in the United States. Most of the machines, grinders and coffees we review are widely available in the U.S., and we weigh price, availability and voltage compatibility for American readers.
Coffee keeps evolving, so we keep updating guides, refining our standards and re-testing equipment and coffees.
