8 coffee shops, hand-picked

8 best coffee shops in Tampa, from local roasters

Eight Tampa coffee shops, most roasting their own beans: Buddy Brew, Blind Tiger, The Lab, Caffeine Roasters and more, with addresses and hours for 2026.

Independent picks: cafés can't pay to be featured, and we earn nothing from these links. Hours and menus change, so check before you go. Editorial policy

Tampa’s best coffee shops are mostly run by local roasters. Buddy Brew, Caffeine Roasters, Blind Tiger, The Lab and Kings Arms all roast their own coffee, and Felicitous roasts under its own label, FÜMI. DI Coffee Bar pours Panther Coffee from Miami, and Spaddy’s grew from a mobile coffee bar into a Seminole Heights café. Most of these cafés open early and close by mid-afternoon, so plan on mornings.

The photos are Sasha’s own, taken on her trip to Tampa. Addresses, hours, roasters and drinks come from each café’s own website, checked in October 2026. We haven’t added tasting notes we can’t stand behind.

Updated October 2026: removed Commune + Co and Foundation Coffee Co., which have both closed. Rechecked every café’s address, hours and roaster, and corrected the ones that had changed.

The short version

  • Six of the eight roast their own coffee: Buddy Brew, Caffeine Roasters, Blind Tiger, The Lab, Kings Arms and Felicitous.
  • For a sit-down breakfast and a long menu, go to Caffeine Roasters on Kennedy Boulevard; it also has a drive-thru.
  • DI Coffee Bar on Davis Islands is the one open into the evening, with Panther Coffee, wine and beer.
  • Kings Arms is inside a church and opens weekdays only, 8:00 to 14:00.

The numbers are for finding your way, not a ranking. The list keeps the independent cafés from the first version of this guide that are still open, in the same order. Hours are as each café published them in October 2026; where a café doesn’t publish them, we say so.

The coffee list changes with the season. In October 2026 it included Old Florida, a Colombia and Brazil blend, and a honey-processed Burundi from Bumba Hill, sourced through Long Miles Coffee. Buddy Brew also runs coffee classes, from home brewing to latte art.

  • 3738 River International Dr, Tampa, FL 33610

Kings Arms is a café inside a church: it sits in the River Pavilion at The River at Tampa Bay Church. Tony Geers and Tim Jooste founded it after Geers tasted a natural-process Ethiopian coffee in San Francisco in 2012, and they started by roasting at Tampa farmers markets, according to the company’s story. They link the business to coffee-growing communities they met as missionaries in Honduras and Brazil.

The hours follow church service times. The café opens Monday to Friday only and can change around special events, so check before you drive out.
