13 coffee shops, hand-picked

13 coffee shops in Indianapolis, with hours and addresses

Thirteen Indianapolis coffee shops with addresses and October 2026 hours, from Coat Check and Quills to roasters Calvin Fletcher's, Blue Mind and Brickhouse.

Independent picks: cafés can't pay to be featured, and we earn nothing from these links. Hours and menus change, so check before you go. Editorial policy

Indianapolis has a small but serious coffee scene, much of it roasted in town. Calvin Fletcher’s, Blue Mind and Brickhouse roast their own coffee, Coat Check is known for its signature lattes in the historic Athenaeum, and Quills brings its Louisville roastery to Meridian Street. A few cafés here do something extra: Commissary is also a barbershop, Hitherto has a library of board games, and Coffeehouse Five funds counseling. Two of the thirteen are in the suburbs, Greenwood and Greenfield.

The photos are Sasha’s own, taken on her trip to Indianapolis. Addresses, hours, roasters and drinks come from each café’s own website, checked in October 2026; where a café has no working website, we name the source we used. We haven’t added tasting notes we can’t stand behind.

Updated October 2026: removed Bee Coffee Roasters, which closed its cafés and now only roasts, and The Missing Brick, which is a pizzeria. Rechecked every café’s address and hours, corrected Bovaconti’s and Calvin Fletcher’s stories, and flagged four cafés we couldn’t confirm are still open.

The short version

  • Calvin Fletcher’s, Blue Mind and Brickhouse roast their own coffee, and Quills roasts in Louisville.
  • For a later coffee, Bovaconti in Fountain Square is open every day until 19:00, and Quills until 19:00 on weekends.
  • Fountain Square has two on Virginia Avenue: Calvin Fletcher’s and Bovaconti.
  • Coffeehouse Five (Greenwood) and Hitherto (Greenfield) are a drive outside the city.

The numbers are for finding your way, not a ranking. The list keeps the cafés from the first version of this guide that still serve coffee, in the same order. Hours are as each café published them in October 2026; where a café doesn’t publish them, we say so.
